About Me

Thanks for visiting my site! I hope you find some information here that will help you on your journey to find the perfect anime, games and collectibles for you.

Who am I?

I’m a dad that loves to play with my son. We have a variety of action figures that we play with when we have free time together. We spend a lot of our play time recreating scenes from our favorite movies or TV shows. While playing, I try to instill in him the difference between a “play” toy and a “collectible” toy. We love to surf the internet searching for new toys and will make special trips to various stores in search of that one toy that we cannot find. Sometimes the fun is in the search, but the acquisition is so much better.

In addition to being an avid toy collector, I am in general what a lot of people refer to as a nerd. I love comic books, anime/manga, sci-fi and fantasy movies and TV shows, video games and other things that fall into this realm. It was something that I did not advertise as boldly a few years ago…but there came a day when I thought to myself, “Why should I be ashamed of what I love?” So, I make no apologies for who I am and my son benefits from this because he has someone to play with and encourage his imagination.

My Journey and Passion

I have spent a lot of time watching anime and movies, collecting toys and playing games over the years.  This makes me a nerd enthusiast.  I love things that most people consider nerdy, and I don’t care.  It is not a bad thing to watch anime, to love a great video game, or desire to own a great action figure.  What a lot of people consider useless stuff, I look at as memories of very fond moments of my childhood up to now and into tomorrow.

I will admit, it can be a bit addictive when you get rolling, and you need to know where to slow it down or stop.  I have bought a lot of worthless, overproduced action figures and have landed on some gems.  The difference between when I started collecting and now is the internet.  Oh so many pages of reviews and opinions.  Some are just pages intended on getting you to buy something and some are real reviews that let you know the good and bad.

As the internet has grown, more and more resources and sites are available to search for anime, games and collectibles that I am interested in. This has lead to fewer trips to a big-box store and more searches on the toys I find and the reviews of those things. I research continuously rather than purchasing something just because it is from something I like. I think that it is important that people are able to have information in front of them that helps to guide a decision in purchasing a game or collectible toy. This means that a lot of junk toys and crappy anime may not be purchased and thus be removed from shelves, maybe leading to companies rethinking their motivations for producing some of these products.

What I Hope to Offer

I would like to offer my insight into the current culture of anime, games and collectible toys and the thoughts and opinions on them. It is important to me that if I am going to invest my hard-earned money into a product that it not only be what is advertised but also hold up over time. There are a lot of great games and collectibles as well as some mediocre and then less than desirable games and collectibles out there. It seems to me that an experienced review of these things would be helpful in deciding whether to purchase or not. As always, anime, games and collectibles should bring pleasure and excitement, not disappointment and regret.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
